The theological program was initiated by the founder, Pastor Marshal Kennedy along and team, in remembrance of his own struggle to study in Bible college during the period of 2000–2009.
Despite being called by God into full-time ministry, he had
to work to support himself, choosing not to depend on his parents who were not
in Christ. While working, he equipped himself with theological education and
earned a Bachelor of Theology, Master of Divinity, and Master of Theology.
Nowadays, theological education has become unaffordable for
many who are called to ministry—especially those from poor backgrounds or
without family support, most of whom are first-generation Christians. To make
theological training accessible to such individuals, like-minded pastors came
together for this noble cause.
Pastor Marshal Kennedy partnered with Pastor Sreedhar
Clement, who is also called to be a theological teacher, and Pastor Francis
Doddamani, who is actively involved in theological education. By the grace of
God, this collaboration led to a partnership with the Canadian Biblical
Institute, Calgary, Canada, and the establishment of a separate entity: Calvary
Biblical Institute – India.
